In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Alhajjar, President of Alnoor University, the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, in cooperation with the Human Rights Unit, launched on Sunday morning, 16/11/2025, the activities of the Anti-Drug Awareness Week, with its program distributed over five days
The events commenced with a speech delivered by the University President, in which he emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of combating drugs and consolidating awareness of their dangers among students and the community. This was followed by a speech delivered by Assistant Lecturer Qidar Ahmed Mahmoud, Head of the Human Rights Unit, who stressed the necessity of enhancing youth awareness of the risks of drugs and the means of prevention
After that, the first research session was convened under the chairmanship of Lecturer Dr. Hussam Zaidan Shukr, during which three scientific lectures were delivered, addressing various themes in the field of combating drugs
The opening session was attended by Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahab, the Assistant Scientific Vice President of the University, in addition to the deans of the Colleges of Education, Law and Political Science, and Administrative Techniques, as well as the University’s Scientific Advisor.
The activities of the Anti-Drug Week continue for five days until Thursday, 20/11/2025, with the participation of 27 researchers from Alnoor University, the universities of Nineveh Governorate, and the relevant institutions. The program includes the delivery of 13 lectures, the organization of 7 educational workshops, in addition to an exhibition of awareness posters.
